what students said about Tanis Douglas

  • .... as well as focusing on the big picture she also focuses on the little things you can do.

  • I liked how Tanis Douglas thought locally about what we can do to restore Bowker Creek. A lot of the things that she does at home to help the environment really inspired me.
  • One of the main strategies of helping the environment that Tanis had was how much the little things help. Taking the bus, riding a bike, not using the dryer, all these small things that result to so much. It just takes the willingness to change, and she brought this to my attention.

  • I appreciated how she had all of her focus on one little area instead of a couple of big ones. By doing this, she was able to give a wake up call that was heard throughout the whole area.
  • Tanis is very sure of what she is doing and she knows a lot about what people can do to help the environment, and she knows tha little things can mean a lot. Although she is not working on any large-scale projects to affect climate change, she does a whole bunch of things to try and curb it at home, and she is doing a very good job of helping the local environment.

The two main ideas that stood out the most were, keep on trying even if you don't succeed the first time. a job interview is like marketing yourself, and if you are not successful the first time go back and research more about the company. Find out what they like and present that in your abilities. The second idea that stood out was getting interested in jobs even in if it is a boring job that doesn't pay much. Engage your costumers and you might have similarities with them, you can learn form each other. It is always good to get another perspective, and be open minded to others. learn from more experienced people as much as you can.
