When there's something you like to do
practice more and more to get better

what students said about Cliff Kennell: firefighter, coach, trainer

The presentation shows how there are so many different jobs to do with leadership. It made think about what different jobs I could be when I grow up that could inspire others. It is important to ask good questions because it will generate discussion and you will get a more interusting answer. It will help you lerarn more about the person, job, or topic. I enjoyed the presentation because it was full of energy and kept me interested. I look forward to making my profile, it sounds fun!

I thought it was amazing that he could be able to take all the stress and how he deals with difficult situations. I think it takes a lot of mental power to be able to take all those situations in. For me personally, I probably wouldn't be able to do it, because it would be physically and mentally draining for me. It hink it's so cool how he can do that. I learned that to deal with things like that you just have to tell yourself to keep going and be strong.

One thing that stood out to me was was to always go step by step so you don't  leave anything out .He had alot to say and the things he had to talk about were inspiring. He seemed like he has had a grate life and that he has had many inspirations. It was really great  listening to all of his stories .

He is a role model for many people. I was amazed at what he is able to do, because I myself, could not be able to do something like that, and he takes situations, good or bad very well. I related to him but taking to a loved one when you are stressed or upset. Also he has some good friends at work, but he also knows some people not that well, and takes care of them just like his good friends. It does really help you through, and I can see how he keeps going strong and being an excellent role model for people any age.

The interview really made me think about what I want to do in life, and about how I need to get there and what I have to do to acheive it. I really appreciate how Cliff took time out of his busy schedule just to come and talk to us. I learned that physical strenght and mental strength can be of equal importance. Because I always thought that mental strength was more important. I heard some really interesting things, like when I asked how he dealt with OTHER PEOPLES' stress, he said to get them out of the situation. He said he would try to get peoples mind off of the situation and get them doing something else.

Thank you so much for taking some time to come answer some questions for us. Your jopb sounds so interesting. When you were talking about when you have to deal with seeing people that have drug problems or are about to die, it really made me think about, Wow.. and i thought I had a tough life, but no this man has to go everyday and fight fires, see people in trouble and sometimes not be able to help them. It really inspired me to think about just how many homeless there are out there and how many fires there are in a day, and how many people go without homes from those fires. It acually really touched me inside to think about that. People may not notice it or you may not notice it but firefighters are heros to so many people. Also health trainers are heros. You are acually a very insirational person. This class was very different for me, in a good way. It made me think alot about life and what kind of jobs are out there that help people in need.

Two ideas that stood out to me in the interview are to slow down stressful situations and to never give up on something that you like. Hearing this helps me because I really want to make Jr. Team Canada in swimming and go to Europe. This interview really inspired me to never give up on my goals, no matter how stressful things may seem at the time and to stay motivated. Sometimes I think that it is hard to stay motivated when you don't do your best and you feel like you don't want to go on, but hearing Cliff talk about the situations that he always feels like he could do better in made me realize that everyone feels like that and the only thing you can do is do better next time.

I think what cliff said about how to make victoria safer is that we need more housing which i thought was a great idea. Becuase i someitme volenteer for the open door which some of you guys might know about. when you actually try to get the know the person and hear their story i do think to my self and say what could i do to help this person out. So what i just do is talk to them and try to help them get back on their feet but i don't do that alone i get some of ther people at the place to help me. But if i could I would build a house for them. but what Cliff said about building hoses to make it safer we she try to consider that becuase if your up to building a house let me know and i will join you.
